This past weekend we spontaneously took Lennon to his first trick or treat event at West Gate here in Glendale Arizona and It was the greatest thing ever. Dispite the melt downs (only two) we were able to get a few treats and memories out of it!
Lennon last year was a turtle but he was 10 months and to be quite honest it was an epic failure. We ended up not going to the zoo because it was already late for him and well our family dog was very sick.
This year he is almost two and I took advantage of the opportunity and ordered him a costume (paid extra to have it that weekend) and took Lennon to his first Halloween event.
We dressed him up as Wicket the Ewok from Star Wars! Super cute and he ended up being the only one dressed up as him!
We knew it was going to be warm so we were surprised that he lasted as long as he did. You know toddlers... they uncomfortable regaurdless!
Anyhow, instead of taking a stroller, we packed up his Little Tikes Cozy Coupe
and pushed him in that! He loves his little car. I wish we would have gotten it a lot sooner...
So what you are probably thinking is why would I take my son to get candy if he's diabetic? Well just because he's diabetic doesn't mean he can't have fun. We just dose properly and well he's not like a huge candy fan! We mostly treat lows with sweets anyways!
We finally let him play in the splash pad that they had and boy did he have a blast!
Of course when we had to go, he was not too happy but you know, he got at least a good half hour of running around and having the time of his life.
Here are some snips of how it went!
I also want to say thank you to Robin for joining in on the fun! I will be posting a new story about our sons this week!
